The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the law programs in seven universities across Nigeria, including the Kwara State
University (KWASU), for non-compliance with the board’s accreditation standards. According to JAMB, the affected universities failed to meet the minimum requirements for the accreditation of their law programs, which led to the suspension.
The board stated that the suspension would remain in place until the universities comply with the necessary requirements.The suspension affects the following universities: Kwara State University (KWASU), Benue State
University, Ebonyi State University, University of Abuja, University of Calabar, University of Nigeria, and the University of Uyo. JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, explained that the suspension was necessary to ensure that law
students receive quality education that meets the required standards. He emphasized that JAMB would continue to monitor the universities’ compliance with accreditation standards.
The suspension has sparked concerns among law students and faculty members at the affected universities, who are worried about the implications of the suspension on their academic programs.
