Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has praised Galatasaray’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in Thursday’s UEFA Europa League clash. Osimhen’s impressive double helped Okan Buruk’s side maintain their unbeaten record in the competition after four matches.
The 25-year-old goal-scorer acknowledged the challenges posed by the Premier League club, stating, “Tottenham was an extremely tough opponent, and we had to adapt our strategy accordingly.” He expressed gratitude to his teammates and the passionate fans, who supported the team throughout the match.
“I’d like to congratulate my teammates on an outstanding performance,” Osimhen said on Galatasaray’s official website. “Our fans were incredible, cheering us on from start to finish. Their energy was contagious.”
Osimhen’s personal performance was also noteworthy, with his two goals taking his tally to six in eight appearances for the Turkish Super Lig champions. He has also provided four assists in that period.
While celebrating his goals, Osimhen’s attention turned to his teammate Mauro, who suffered an injury during the match. “I hope Mauro’s injury isn’t severe,” he added. “We need him back on the pitch soon.”
Galatasaray’s win over Tottenham was a crucial one, and Osimhen recognizes the importance of maintaining momentum. “Beating Tottenham, who played exceptionally well and fought until the end, was vital for us,” he emphasized. “We must continue to build on this victory and keep pushing forward.”
With Osimhen in top form, Galatasaray will look to continue their unbeaten streak in the Europa League.
