In a recent development, two men, Ademola Egunlae, 52, and Oluwafemi Ajayi, 65, were arraigned in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ court on Monday for allegedly attempting to murder Hon. Odun Ayo Talabi Arinka, an aide to Governor Biodun Oyebanji ¹.
The accused persons are facing charges of conspiracy, threatening violence with offensive weapons, and attempted murder. According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the accused committed the offence on December 22, 2024.
Inspector Oriyomi informed the court that there is probable cause to order the remand of Ademola and Oluwafemi Ajayi in Correctional custody. He stated that the offences contravened section 421, 46 and 241 (a)& b of the criminal law, Ekiti State.
The Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted the accused bail in the sum of N250,000 with one surety each in like sum. The case has been adjourned until February 14, 2025, for hearing.
