Tragedy Strikes Benue State as Suspected Herdsmen Kill 13 in Deadly Attack

Tragedy struck Benue State on Sunday morning as suspected herdsmen launched a deadly attack on Azege settlement, Mbaya, Tombo Ward, Logo Local Government Area, leaving 13 people dead and numerous others injured. The attack, which occurred around 7 a.m, also resulted in widespread destruction, including the burning of homes, farmlands, and crops.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers, who were armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the settlement and began shooting sporadically, killing and injuring many in the process. The attack has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with many residents fleeing their homes in fear of further violence.

The Benue State government has condemned the attack, describing it as “barbaric and senseless.” The government has also promised to take swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and to provide support to the affected families.
