When you eat certain foods, the bacteria naturally present in your mouth reacts with them to form an acid.
This acid coats the outer layer of the teeth and erodes them. If care is not taken, the teeth starts to decay. When decay gets there, your teeth starts to swell and you experience pain.
Abscess formation: This is the last stage of tooth decay. Here, the bacteria gets to the pulp and forms an abscess. It causes severe pain and may lead to extraction of the tooth. Early signs of tooth decay include; White spots where minerals have been lost Teeth sensitivity to hot or cold substances Discoloration or stain on the teeth.When you notice these signs, take your oral health seriously. Tooth decay can be prevented by practicing good oral hygiene and making better food choices.
