Tinubu Nominates Dr Bernard Doro from Plateau as Minister, Seeks Senate Approval

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sent a letter to the Senate requesting the confirmation of Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Dr Doro’s nomination comes following the appointment of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Prof. Yilwatda had previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction before assuming his new role within the ruling party.

Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State, Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement across Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Dr Doro holds multiple academic and professional qualifications, including degrees in Pharmacy and Law, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.

He is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with practical experience on the frontlines of the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom. His professional roles have included work in urgent care units, walk-in centres, general practice clinics, and hospital environments.

Beyond his medical and pharmaceutical expertise, Dr Doro has played a key role in youth mentorship and social impact initiatives, both within the Nigerian diaspora and in local communities at home.

The Presidency, through Bayo Onanuga’s statement, emphasized that Dr Doro’s diverse background in healthcare, leadership, and community service aligns with President Tinubu’s ongoing drive to strengthen governance and deliver effective public service across all sectors.
