TCN Announces 10-Day Maintenance Exercise at Gombe Substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the commencement of a 10-day maintenance operation at its

132/33KV transmission substation in Gombe State. According to the TCN management, the exercise is aimed at

improving power supply reliability and strengthening the transmission network within the North-East region. The company

said the maintenance work would involve major upgrades, inspection, and replacement of aging equipment to

enhance operational efficiency.In a statement issued on Tuesday, TCN explained that the planned maintenance

would begin on Wednesday, October 16, and is expected to last until Friday, October 25, 2025. During this period, power

interruptions may occur in parts of Gombe metropolis and neighboring communities as technicians carry out the scheduled

repairs. “While the maintenance work is ongoing, some customers may experience temporary outages. We sincerely regret the

inconvenience this may cause and assure all affected customers that normal power supply will be restored as soon as the

exercise is completed,” the statement read.The TCN emphasized that the exercise forms part of its nationwide effort

to ensure steady electricity transmission and prevent unexpected breakdowns across its substations. It also urged

residents and electricity consumers in the state to bear with the temporary inconvenience, noting that the outcome

will result in better service delivery and improved grid stability.The company further reaffirmed its commitment to

providing uninterrupted electricity transmission services and maintaining the integrity of the national grid.
