A 32-year-old sex worker, Riyanatu Musa, has been taken into custody by the police in Yola, Adamawa State, for allegedly stabbing a barman, Yohanna Musa, to death during a dispute over a ₦200 debt.
Details of the Incident
According to eyewitnesses, the altercation occurred at a local bar in Yola, where Riyanatu Musa had allegedly accumulated a debt of ₦200. When Yohanna Musa, the barman, demanded payment, Riyanatu Musa became agitated and a physical confrontation ensued.
Fatal Consequences
During the fight, Riyanatu Musa allegedly stabbed Yohanna Musa with a sharp object, resulting in fatal injuries. The barman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police Investigation
The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident and has arrested Riyanatu Musa in connection with Yohanna Musa’s death. The police are currently detaining Riyanatu Musa at the Yola Police Division, where she is awaiting trial.
