The Katsina State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Dutsinma Local Government Area due to the breakdown of law and order during the nationwide protests.

The police have detained 50 suspected miscreants for alleged misconduct during Thursday’s protest.

The suspects were detained for hijacking the protest, shopbreaking, looting, and vandalizing public and private properties.

The security arrangements have been reinforced in the state to contain the protests and maintain law and order.

The acting governor, Malam Faruq Jobe, has appealed to the people in the state to continue with their legitimate activities within the free movement period.
