Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has publicly endorsed the programmes and appointments made by Governor Monday Okpebholo, stating that they will greatly benefit the Edo people. The event was attended by several high-profile politicians, including the acting Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhurdjakpo, and the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.

Shaibu, who is also a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), commended Governor Okpebholo for hitting the ground running from his first day in office. He expressed his happiness with the governor’s immediate actions, including the flag-off of the flyover project and the appointment of key officials. Shaibu urged the Edo people to pray for the governor, asking God to grant him the wisdom to lead the state effectively.

In his remarks, Shaibu emphasized the importance of supporting the governor through prayers and physical actions. He stated, “The way he can survive and succeed is for us to give both physical and spiritual support. Leaders must be prayed for at all times so that they will not make mistakes.” Shaibu also encouraged the youths to believe in the country and to stand up for their rights, saying, “Don’t give up, there is hope in Nigeria”.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dr. Pius Odubu, former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Frank Okiye, Senator Matthew Uroghide, and Hon Razak Belo-Osagie, among others.
