Ogun State Governor Presents 2025 Budget Proposal of ₦1.054 Trillion

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has presented the proposed 2025 Appropriation Bill to the state House of Assembly. The budget proposal, tagged “Budget of Hope and Prosperity,” totals N1,054,542,020,147.47, with N453.56 billion allocated for recurrent expenditures and N600.98 billion for capital expenditures.

The governor noted that the budget reflects the current challenges, essential reforms, and the need for inclusive, diversified, and sustainable growth. Abiodun revealed that the 2025 budget proposals would address the state’s challenges and outline sustainable strategies to overcome them.

The budget prioritizes infrastructure, healthcare, housing, security, education, youth empowerment, job creation, and agriculture, with policies designed to drive recovery and transformation during economic turbulence. A sectoral breakdown of the budget proposal indicates that the infrastructural sector will receive the largest share of N284.456 billion, representing 27% of the total budget.

Education Sector: N177.835 billion, representing 17% of the total budget

Health Sector: N134.538 billion, amounting to 13% of the total budget

Housing and Community Development: N66.382 billion, representing 6% of the total budget

Personnel Costs: N120.14 billion

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, appreciated Governor Abiodun for renovating the State Assembly Complex and other infrastructural projects, contributing to the lawmakers’ and staffers’ overall well-being and working conditions.
