Ogun Police Arrest Suspected Burglar for Stealing Valuables Worth Over N200,000

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old suspected burglar, David Adediji, for breaking into a home in Okorowepo, Idiroko area of the state. Adediji allegedly entered the home of a female resident through the window, damaging the iron security bars and striking her on the head with an iron rod. According to the Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the suspect is known for using iron tools to break into homes to steal. Adediji made off with the victim’s Techno Spark phone worth over N150,000, cash of N52,000, and injured her on the back and leg while trying to flee the scene.The victim reported the incident at about 7:00 pm on Wednesday, and the Divisional Police Officer of the Idiroko Division visited the scene, initiating an investigation that led to Adediji’s arrest. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime.Odutola noted that preliminary investigation has commenced for further information and likely prosecution. The police have collected items such as an iron rod and a plank as evidence from the crime scene.This incident highlights the importance of vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities to the authorities. The Ogun State Police Command’s swift response to the incident is commendable, and it is hoped that justice will be served.
