The Nigeria Police Force has given an update on the death of Miss Priscilla Ocheme, a young woman who went missing in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, after visiting her boyfriend. According to the police, Priscilla’s lifeless body was discovered around the Goshen Estate in the Pyakasa neighbourhood after visiting her lover, Ekhousuehi Elvis, on September 22, 2024.
The case was reported to the office of the Assistant Inspector-General Zone 7 Abuja, leading to the invitation of the prime suspect, Elvis, for questioning. However, instead of reporting as requested, the suspect proceeded to another police formation in Lagos State to file a counter-petition.
In response to this development, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the IGP-Special Investigation Unit to take over the case. This decision aims to maintain clarity and avoid duplication in the ongoing investigations, ensuring that the case receives the attention and sensitivity it requires.
The primary suspect, Ekhousuehi Elvis, and other suspects arrested in connection with the case are presently in police custody, where they are being interrogated. The police have clarified that contrary to circulating rumours, Elvis or any of the suspects are not experiencing any form of mistreatment.
The IGP has emphasized the importance of justice and thoroughness in this investigation. The Special Investigation Unit is equipped to handle cases of this nature and will investigate thoroughly to uncover the truth.
