The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has unveiled a new online portal designed to simplify the process of obtaining drug integrity tests and visa clearance certificates for Nigerians.
According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the digital platform was created to make these essential services faster, more transparent, and easily accessible to the public. The initiative is also expected to help reduce the growing challenges linked to substance abuse and improve accountability in the issuance of drug-related certifications.
During the launch event, the NDLEA explained that the new system will streamline the entire process, eliminating unnecessary paperwork and delays that citizens often face when applying manually. The agency emphasized that the online service would not only promote efficiency but also strengthen its efforts to combat the misuse of drugs and other illicit substances across the country.
Speaking at the inauguration, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, said the platform would serve both individuals and institutions that require verified drug integrity results for employment, education, or international travel purposes. He noted that the online portal represents a major step forward in the agency’s digital transformation strategy aimed at improving service delivery and curbing corruption.
Babafemi further explained that the platform can be accessed through the NDLEA’s official website, where applicants can fill out their details, upload required documents, and schedule appointments for drug integrity testing. Once the process is completed, applicants can also obtain their visa clearance certificates directly through the same portal.
According to him, the initiative aligns with NDLEA’s broader goal of promoting a drug-free society by ensuring that individuals going abroad for work or study uphold integrity and pass through a transparent vetting system.
The agency encouraged Nigerians to embrace the new digital service and avoid patronizing unauthorized agents or middlemen who may attempt to exploit applicants.
With this innovation, the NDLEA aims to enhance transparency, ensure data integrity, and support national and international collaboration in drug control and law enforcement.
