In a surprise move, supporters of the Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, stormed Ikeja, the state capital, to plan a heroic welcome for the embattled speaker.
This development comes amid rumors of a rift between Obasa and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, over the 2027 governorship race. The supporters, who were reportedly impeached Lagos
council chairmen, gathered to show their solidarity with the speaker. Their actions demonstrate Obasa’s enduring influence and popularity within the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
