Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2023 election, has made a startling revelation about a plot to unseat Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State. According to Kwankwaso, some individuals within the party are secretly plotting to take over Governor Yusuf’s seat by instigating mistakes and capitalizing on them to achieve their goal.
Kwankwaso made this disclosure in an interview with the BBC Hausa service, where he addressed the rumors of a rift between him and Governor Yusuf. He emphasized that his relationship with the governor remains strong and that he is committed to supporting him.
The former governor of Kano State attributed the plot to the ambitions of some party members who are eager to take over the governor’s seat. He warned that these individuals are working to undermine Governor Yusuf’s administration and create divisions within the party.
Kwankwaso’s revelation has sparked concerns about the stability of the NNPP in Kano State and the potential implications for the party’s future. The party’s leadership has yet to respond to Kwankwaso’s allegations, but the development is likely to generate intense debate and discussion within the party ranks.
