A devastating case unfolded in a Kano State High Court, where 43-year-old Mannir Ibrahim-Abdullahi was ordered to be remanded in a correctional center
for allegedly raping a minor to death. Justice Zuwaira Yusuf adjourned the matter until December 9 for hearing.
Prosecution counsel, Lamido Abba-Sorondinki, presented the case against Ibrahim-Abdullahi, who resides in Jaba Quarters, Kano. According to Abba-Sorondinki, the defendant committed the heinous crime on August 1 at Jaba Panisau Quarters.
Tragic Events Unfolded
The victim’s father took the minor to Waraka Chemist, owned by Ibrahim-Abdullahi, for malaria treatment. However, the defendant allegedly took advantage of the situation and raped the minor to death.
Ibrahim-Abdullahi Pleads Not Guilty
Despite the evidence presented, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges. Abba-Sorondinki emphasized that the offense contravened Sections 221 and 283 of the Penal Code.
Justice Yusuf’s ruling ensures that Ibrahim-Abdullahi will remain in custody until the hearing on December The case has sparked outrage and concern about child safety and justice in Kano State.
