Kaduna Village Attack: 16 Residents Kidnapped, 9 Escape

A devastating attack occurred in Mararraba Mazuga village, located in the Kachia local government area of Kaduna State, resulting in the kidnapping of 16 residents. The incident took place between 11 pm on Thursday and 12 midnight on Friday, according to eyewitnesses.Tragically, two of the kidnapped victims managed to escape, while seven others were released by the kidnappers with a demand to provide ransom for the remaining captives. One of the released victims, Na’omi Kayit, revealed that her two daughters were still being held by the kidnappers. Naomi’s daughters are students, with one attending ABU Zaria and the other studying on scholarship in Togo, who was in Nigeria for a break.The kidnappers have yet to establish contact with the victims’ families to demand ransom. Efforts to obtain a statement from the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the Public Relations Officer’s phone line was unreachable.This incident is the latest in a series of kidnappings and attacks in Kaduna State. Recently, bandits kidnapped 60 residents in Buba village, Kajuru Local Government Area. Additionally, 15 persons were abducted from three houses in Mani Village, Chikun Local Government Area.
