The Staff Welfare Association of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abia State has made a passionate appeal to Governor Alex Otti to provide the association with a bus. This request, made by the Chairman of the INEC Staff Welfare Association, Collins Eze, aims to alleviate the economic hardship faced by workers in the state.
During the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the staff in Umuahia, Eze emphasized the importance of transportation support from the state government. He noted that the economic crunch has led to rising transportation costs, making it challenging for workers to commute to work regularly and promptly.
Eze revealed that the association had previously appealed for a bus from the state government, but to no avail. However, he remains committed to advocating for the needs of the association’s members.
The provision of a bus would significantly improve the lives of INEC staff in Abia State, enabling them to perform their duties efficiently and effectively. Governor Otti’s support in this matter would be a welcome relief to the workers and a testament to his administration’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants.
