High Commission of India Donates 2,000 Gift Packs to FCT School Girls

In a remarkable show of support for gender equality and women’s empowerment, the High Commission of

India in Nigeria has donated 2,000 gift packs to students of Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse, located in the

Federal Capital Territory (FCT).The distribution of the gift packs took place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Abuja,

marking another milestone in India’s ongoing efforts to promote education, gender equality, and the welfare of young

women in Nigeria. The initiative is part of a broader commitment by the High Commission to support programs that

empower women and girls through education and access to essential resources. Speaking during the distribution

ceremony, a representative of the High Commission of India in Nigeria emphasized the importance of

empowering girls as a fundamental step toward building a more inclusive and equitable society. The gesture was warmly

received by the students and staff of Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse, who expressed gratitude for the

initiative. The donated gift packs, which include essential school supplies and learning materials, are expected to

enhance the educational experience of the students and encourage greater participation in academic and

extracurricular activities. This initiative is in line with India’s continued collaboration with Nigeria in areas of education,
