In a significant move, Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has vowed to utilize peace and artificial intelligence to address conflicts and outmaneuver troublemakers. This commitment was made during the formal inauguration of Eze Oha Apara Palace for Eze Worlu-Wodo, the Paramount Ruler of Ekinigbo and Eze Oha Apara IV, in Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stating, “No matter the level of provocation, try to control your temper. We don’t use fights to resolve fights. You use peace, apply it well, and employ the Artificial Intelligence method to defeat troublemakers.” This approach underscores his administration’s commitment to finding innovative solutions to conflicts.
The governor’s stance is particularly relevant given the ongoing rift between him and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over the political structure of Rivers State. This divide has led to lawmakers in the State House of Assembly aligning themselves along loyalty lines, causing divisions within the assembly. Earlier this year, the assembly was bombed amid the ongoing tension between the two leaders.
Despite President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to mediate, the cold war between Governor Fubara and Minister Wike persists. However, Governor Fubara’s commitment to using peace and artificial intelligence to overcome conflict offers a promising approach to resolving the impasse.
