Ganduje Establishes Committee to Review Dismissed Kano Sharia Police Personnel By Kano Government

The immediate past chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has constituted a 44-member committee to screen 10,000 Hizbah (Sharia Police) personnel reportedly dismissed by the Kano State government.

The committee, led by Baffa Babba Danagundi, Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, has been tasked with identifying and verifying affected individuals to explore avenues for their rehabilitation and possible reinstatement.

Danagundi explained that the initiative follows directives from former Governor Ganduje and responds to concerns raised by various stakeholders regarding the dismissals.

“The Hizbah, known for promoting moral conduct and enforcing Islamic values in Kano, has long played a significant role in the state’s socio-religious landscape,” Danagundi stated.

The 44-member panel is expected to submit its findings and recommendations within a stipulated timeframe, potentially guiding policy actions to address the grievances of the dismissed personnel.
