The Zamfara State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has taken a commendable step in handing over the sum of N630,750 to relatives of accident victims in the state. This gesture follows a tragic road traffic accident that occurred on November 21, 2024, along the Gusau-Funtua road at Tazame village.
According to the FRSC spokesman, Isah Aliyu, the accident involved a bus with registration number ABJ758XB and a Volkswagen Golf, and was caused by wrongful overtaking and over-speeding. The FRSC standby rescue team promptly responded to the distress call, rescuing the victims and taking them to the Federal Medical Center, FMC, Gusau.
In addition to providing medical assistance, the FRSC team also recovered some items belonging to the victims, including three Tecno keypads, two Android smartphones, and the sum of N630,750. These items were handed over to the relatives of the victims, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Karakkai, by the DCC, M Shehu, on behalf of the Sector Commander, Tijjani IIiyasu.
The FRSC has demonstrated its commitment to not only preventing road accidents but also providing support to victims and their families. This gesture is a testament to the organization’s dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of road users in Zamfara State and across Nigeria.
