In a surprising move, former Minister of Aviation Osita Chidoka has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Chidoka made this disclosure during his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, where he revealed that he had submitted his resignation letter to his ward in Anambra State.
According to Chidoka, his decision to leave the PDP is motivated by his intention to concentrate on his non-profit organization, Athena Centre. He expressed his commitment to collaborating with like-minded Nigerians to reform the country’s political system and advocate for evidence-based governance.
“I am leaving the PDP, I am leaving politics for some time, I am focusing on the Athena Centre,” Chidoka stated. He also emphasized that he will work in concert with other Nigerians who want to reform the political system and bring about evidence-based governance.
Chidoka’s resignation from the PDP marks a significant shift in his career, as he moves away from partisan politics to focus on his non-profit organization. As a former Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Chidoka brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new endeavor.
It’s worth noting that Chidoka’s decision to resign from the PDP has been seen as a step in the right direction by some observers, who believe that his move will allow him to pursue his noble goals without being accused of being biased.
