The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that a comprehensive civil service verification exercise will commence on October 16, 2025,
and conclude on November 14, 2025. This initiative aims to update personnel records, identify skills gaps within the civil service, and support ongoing workforce
reforms. The verification process will be conducted by appointed consultants across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
It is designed to ensure that all civil servants’ records are accurate and up-to-date, facilitating more efficient governance and service delivery.
According to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, the exercise is part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance the effectiveness of the civil service.
She emphasized that the verification would help in identifying areas where skills development is needed and ensure that the right personnel are in the appropriate positions.
Employees are advised to cooperate fully with the consultants during the verification process. This includes providing accurate information and necessary documentation to facilitate the smooth completion of the exercise.
The Federal Government has stressed the importance of this verification in building a more robust and efficient civil service, which is crucial for the effective implementation of government policies and programs.
Civil servants are encouraged to stay informed about the schedule and procedures for the verification in their respective MDAs to ensure a seamless process.
