The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has announced that the Federal Government is prepared to receive deported Nigerians from the United States. This move demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting its citizens, regardless of their circumstances ¹.According to NiDCOM, the Federal Government is taking proactive steps to ensure a smooth reintegration process for the deported individuals. This includes providing necessary assistance, such as accommodation, food, and counseling, to help them settle back into Nigerian society.NiDCOM’s Chairman, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, emphasized the importance of supporting Nigerians in the diaspora, stating that the commission is committed to working with the Federal Government to ensure their safe return and reintegration.The commission has also urged Nigerians in the diaspora to register with the Nigerian Diaspora Registry, which aims to provide a database of Nigerians living abroad. This registry will enable the government to better support and engage with its citizens abroad ².As the Federal Government prepares to welcome deported Nigerians from the US, NiDCOM is working tirelessly to ensure a seamless reintegration process. The commission’s efforts demonstrate the government’s commitment to supporting its citizens, both at home and abroad.
