The Nigerian Senate has taken a bold step towards addressing the recent demolitions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), calling for a thorough probe into the matter. On Thursday, the Senate set up an investigative committee to look into the demolitions and report back within a specified timeframe.
The committee, established following a motion moved by Senator Ireti Kingibe, will invite FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to explain the reasons behind the demolitions. The demolitions have left many residents without homes, sparking widespread concern.
This development highlights the Senate’s commitment to protecting the rights and interests of Nigerian citizens, particularly those affected by the demolitions in the FCT.
