Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Gani Audu as his Chief of Staff, with immediate effect ¹. This development was made public through a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Umar Ikhilor. According to Ikhilor, Audu’s appointment is aimed at driving meaningful reforms in the state.
Gani Audu, the new Chief of Staff, boasts an impressive educational background. Born on August 18, 1969, Audu obtained an HND from Auchi Polytechnic in 1994, a PGD in Business Administration from Benson Idahosa University in 2011, and an (link unavailable) in Intelligence and Global Security from Baze University, Abuja in 2024.
Audu’s political career spans over two decades, having served as the elected Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Council from 2004 to 2010. He was also an elected member of the Edo State House of Assembly, representing Etsako West Constituency 1, from 2015 to 2023.
As the new Chief of Staff, Audu is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in helping Governor Okpebholo drive meaningful reforms in the state. The appointment has been welcomed by many, who believe that Audu’s expertise will be invaluable in shaping the state’s policies and programs.
