The Department of State Services (DSS) has questioned the coordinator of the Take-It-Back (TIB) movement in Jigawa
State following recent protests against hunger and insecurity. The protests, organized by the TIB movement, aimed to
draw attention to the escalating issues of food scarcity and safety concerns affecting residents in the region.
Participants marched through major streets in Dutse, the state capital, demanding immediate government action
to address these pressing issues. Engr. Sani Aminu Taura, the TIB coordinator in Jigawa, was summoned by the DSS for
questioning regarding the organization and participation in the protests. Sources indicate that the DSS sought to understand
the group’s objectives and the extent of its involvement in mobilizing participants.The TIB movement has emphasized that their
demonstrations were peaceful and aimed solely at advocating for the rights and welfare of the people. They have called on
the government to prioritize addressing the root causes of hunger and insecurity in the state.In response to the DSS inquiry,
the TIB has reiterated its commitment to non-violent activism and its mission to bring about positive change through lawful
means. The movement continues to urge the government to engage in dialogue and take actionable steps to alleviate the hardships faced by the people of Jigawa.
