Nigerian social media commentator, Vincent Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, has sparked outrage online with his damning revelations about billionaire Aliko Dangote’s refinery.
In a viral video, Verydarkman accused Dangote of greed and deceit, questioning the true intentions behind his venture into crude oil refining. According to Verydarkman, Dangote’s refinery is not aimed at alleviating the suffering of Nigerians but rather to line his own pockets.
Verydarkman claimed that Dangote had received crude oil from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) for testing purposes but instead sold it abroad. He alleged that he possesses confidential documents supporting these claims. The Dangote Refinery, with a production capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, was expected to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported petroleum products. However, Verydarkman’s allegations have raised concerns about the refinery’s true benefits. Nigerians are demanding a thorough investigation into Verydarkman’s allegations. The NNPC and Dangote Refinery have yet to respond to these claims.
