The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations Against Corruption (COCSOAC), Nigerian Professionals in Diaspora (NPID), and Bloggers have jointly condemned Arise TV for its consistent misrepresentation and lack of balanced reportage on the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and President Bola Tinubu.
Biased Reporting: The coalition expressed disappointment over Arise TV’s intentional dissemination of unbalanced narratives on crucial national matters, such as NNPCL’s achievements, deregulation of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), and progress in the oil and gas sector.
Lack of Objectivity: The coalition emphasized that accurate journalism demands fairness and objectivity, which Arise TV has consistently failed to provide.
Misinformation: The coalition urged Arise TV to uphold journalistic ethics by providing balanced stories, engaging stakeholders fairly, and avoiding skewed narratives.
Achievements of NNPCL and President Tinubu’s Administration
The coalition hailed the Kyari-led NNPCL for its significant strides in the Nigerian oil and gas sector, including:
Reopening of Port Harcourt Refinery: After years of stagnation, the refinery has commenced refining PMS and other products.
Imminent Reopening of Warri Refinery: A critical milestone in addressing Nigeria’s energy challenges.
Bold Economic Reforms: President Tinubu’s administration has ensured that these initiatives remain on course, demonstrating commitment to sustainable development and economic growth.
The coalition called on Nigerians to support government policies and celebrate the efforts of Mele Kyari and his team in transforming the Nigerian oil and gas sector.
