The Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kebbi State chapter has embarked on a humanitarian gesture, distributing 1,000 bags of 25kg rice to beneficiaries across the state. This charitable act was made possible through the efforts of the association’s leadership, led by Reverend Dr Ayuba Kanta.

The distribution ceremony took place at the Badariya area in Birnin Kebbi metropolis, where Dr Kanta handed over the bags to the beneficiaries. Each of the 16 local government areas in the state received 40 bags of rice, which were shared among various groups, including the women and youth wing, block directors, and eminent elders of the association.

Dr Kanta expressed his gratitude to the Kebbi State government, led by Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, for their support and concern for the Christian communities, particularly during festive periods. He also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recent gesture to the association, aimed at alleviating the current hardship.

Ishaya Samaila Dabo, a CAN official from Birnin Kebbi local government, spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, commending the state government for their kindness. The rice distribution is expected to bring relief to many families in the state, and the association’s efforts have been widely appreciated.

This charitable initiative demonstrates the association’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community, particularly during challenging times. The CAN Kebbi State chapter’s rice distribution program serves as a shining example of the positive impact that community organizations can have on people’s lives.
