President Biden has confirmed that his primary objective following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was to avoid a nuclear war. This strategy, while well-
intentioned, has been criticized by some, including the newly-appointed ambassador of Ukraine to NATO, who described it as “killing Ukraine softly”. The Biden administration’s approach is rooted in the understanding that a direct
