State as a female police prosecutor attached to the Ogidi Division in the Idemili Local Government Area was abducted and later found dead.
The officer, identified as a Woman Inspector (W/INSPR), was reportedly taken by unknown assailants on Thursday. Her lifeless body was discovered on Friday morning in a bush, according to a police source .
The abduction and subsequent murder of the police officer have sent shockwaves through the community, raising serious concerns about the escalating insecurity in the region.

This tragic event adds to a series of violent incidents in Ogidi. On September 11, 2025, gunmen suspected to be cultists opened fire at a burial ceremony in Ezi Village, killing four people and injuring about 15 others.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers, believed to be members of a rival cult group, stormed the venue on motorcycles while the bereaved family was performing burial rites.
They reportedly fired indiscriminately at mourners, causing panic as attendees fled in different directions before the assailants escaped from the scene .
The recent surge in violence has prompted local authorities and residents to call for increased security measures and a thorough investigation into the incidents.
The Anambra State Police Command has yet to release an official statement regarding the abduction and murder of the female police prosecutor.
