The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has raised an alarm over the relentless attacks the airline has faced since it commenced its London operation in February 2024. Onyema made this revelation during a stakeholders’ meeting themed “Finding Lasting Solutions to Flight Disruptions,” where industry operators and stakeholders gathered to address the persistent issue of flight delays and cancellations.

According to Onyema, the attacks on Air Peace are being orchestrated from within Nigeria, taking the form of false accusations, malicious narratives, and fake videos circulated on social media. He emphasized that these attacks are not only targeted at the airline but also aim to undermine the successes achieved by the current administration, particularly in the aviation sector.

“The attacks are relentless, and it’s becoming dangerous,” Onyema warned. “I call on security agencies to investigate these incidents. It’s scary to see people deliberately trying to malign the airline.” He also pointed out that false news reports, such as the claim of an Air Peace flight crashing in Western Sahara, are being spread to further discredit the airline.

Onyema attributed the motivation behind these attacks to a desire to diminish the achievements of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development under President Bola Tinubu. He noted that the aviation industry has seen significant improvements, including enhanced ease of doing business, but some individuals are determined to sabotage these successes.
