The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has extended a special invitation to former President Olusegun Obasanjo to tour the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries, showcasing their operational status and highlighting the company’s transformation into a profit-driven entity. This invitation comes on the heels of Obasanjo’s recent criticism of the refineries’ management. The NNPCL has assured the former president that the days of inefficiency are behind them, and the company has undergone a significant transformation. According to Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, the company has transitioned from a government corporation to a private entity, focusing on delivering energy security for the nation and providing tangible benefits to Nigerians.
The NNPCL has expressed its commitment to transparency and accountability, welcoming Obasanjo’s wisdom and experience in witnessing the progress made under the new management.
