A shocking and devastating incident has unfolded in New Mexico, where a 16-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly killing his family members. The tragedy occurred in the city of Belen, where the teenager called 911 before dawn on Saturday, confessing to the dispatcher that he had killed his family.
When deputies from the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene, they found the 16-year-old walking out of the residence with his hands in the air, appearing extremely intoxicated. Upon entering the home, deputies discovered the bodies of Leonardo Leyva, 42, Adriana Bencomo, 35, Adrian Leyva, 16, and Alexander Leyva, 14, all of whom had suffered suspected gunshot wounds. A handgun was found on the kitchen table.
According to a Belen official, the victims were the suspect’s parents and two brothers. The teenager has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder, marking a tragic and disturbing turn of events.
