Bishop T.D. Jakes, the renowned leader of The Potter’s House Church in Dallas, United States, suffered a health scare during a sermon on Sunday, prompting immediate medical attention. The 67-year-old preacher was rushed out of the church after experiencing difficulty breathing while delivering a powerful hour-long message.
As Bishop Jakes struggled to breathe, he prayed, “The meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord. My strength and my redeemer, let them go in peace.” He then bowed his head, lowered his microphone, and was quickly surrounded by church officials who noticed him struggling.
The Potter’s House Church took to its Facebook handle to describe the incident as a “slight health incident,” but did not disclose the cause of the incident or if Bishop Jakes was hospitalized. The church expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community, thanking everyone for their understanding and continued prayers.
Bishop Jakes is currently stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter’s House family is relieved and grateful for the prompt medical attention and the support of the community.
The Potter’s House Church, founded in 1996, has a membership capacity of over 30,000, according to its website. Bishop Jakes leads the church alongside his daughter, Sarah Jakes, who is also a preacher.
