Ruben Amorim, the incoming manager of Manchester United, has made it clear that he won’t be raiding his former club, Sporting CP, for talent in the January transfer window. Despite speculation

linking him to Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, Amorim emphasized that he won’t be making any signings from his old team.”I won’t be signing any Sporting players at Manchester United in January,”

Amorim stated categorically. “What happens in the summer is uncertain, but for now, I’m focused on working with the current squad.”

Amorim’s comments come amidst rumors that he would reunite with Gyokeres, whom he coached at Sporting. However, the Portuguese manager is keen to quash such speculation, at least for the immediate future.

When pressed about the quality of Sporting’s players, Amorim acknowledged their talent but remained non-committal. “Sporting has excellent players, but we’ll see what the future holds,” he added.

As Amorim prepares to take the reins at Old Trafford, his stance on transfers will be closely watched. Manchester United fans will be eager to see how he shapes the team and addresses any gaps in the squad. Amorim’s arrival marks a new era for Manchester United, and his transfer strategy will be pivotal in shaping the team’s success. For now, it seems Sporting CP’s players are off the table, but the summer transfer window may tell a different story.
