
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has again warned its personnel to stay away from partisan politics, urging them to remain
loyal, disciplined, and professional in carrying out their constitutional responsibilities. Air Vice Marshal Usman
Abdullahi, the Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Special Operations Command, Bauchi, gave the advice during the 2025
Annual 10-Kilometer Walk and Jog Exercise organized by the Nigerian Air Force. He cautioned that no member of the
service should take part in any form of political activity or behavior that could undermine the integrity and values of the
military profession. “You must remain apolitical. Don’t involve yourselves in any political activities or in anything that goes
against the calling of our military profession. I urge you to remain loyal to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the
President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, ”Abdullahi said.The AOC highlighted that the Nigerian Air Force
places great emphasis on both the mental and physical well-being of its personnel. According to him, the exercise aims to
strengthen teamwork, improve alertness, and enhance overall fitness across all ranks. He also expressed appreciation to
the Bauchi State Government for its continued partnership, assistance, and for providing a peaceful environment that
enables smooth military operations within the state. Speaking after the exercise, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala
Mohammed, praised the outstanding performance of participants, describing it as a demonstration of dedication,
consistency, and strong military discipline. Represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Auwal Jatau, the governor emphasized that the
event reflected unity and collaboration among the armed forces, paramilitary agencies, and members of the National
Youth Service Corps (NYSC). “Seeing officers from various services and agencies participate together in such a
lively atmosphere shows that sports and fitness are powerful tools for strengthening peace and solidarity,
”he said.Governor Mohammed also commended the cordial relationship between the Bauchi State Government,
the Nigerian Air Force, and other security agencies, noting that their synergy has played a key role in ensuring peace and
stability in the state. According to SPYRONEWS Reporter a total of 32 participants including airmen, airwomen,
officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigeria Customs Service, and civilians received prizes for their exceptional performance during the exercise.
