The Chief of Training of the Nigerian Army, Major General Abubakar Ndalolo, has reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to
addressing manpower shortages through well-structured training programs and capacity-building initiatives designed to strengthen the force’s efficiency.Ndalolo
made this known in Ilorin, Kwara State, while declaring open the Practical-Based Certificate Course in Library and
Information Science, organized for Army personnel as part of the ongoing efforts to enhance professionalism and human capital development within the military.
According to him, the Nigerian Army recognizes that continuous education and professional training are vital in bridging
manpower gaps and improving operational readiness across various departments and units.He explained that the Army’s
leadership, under the direction of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede. , has
approved several specialized courses aimed at equipping officers and soldiers with modern knowledge and technical
skills required to effectively perform their duties in a fast-evolving security environment. “The Nigerian Army is committed to building the capacity of its
personnel to meet the demands of modern military operations. Through approved courses such as this, we are ensuring that
manpower gaps are effectively closed, while our officers and men remain competent and motivated,” Ndalolo said. He noted that the Library and Information
Science course would empower participants with information management skills critical for intelligence, research, and administrative operations across Army
formations. The Major General further emphasized the importance of continuous learning, stressing that an informed and well-trained military workforce is the
foundation of national defense and internal security success. Ndalolo commended the Nigerian Army Education Corps for organizing the course and urged
participants to make the best use of the opportunity to contribute to the Army’s overall development goals. He also reiterated the Army’s resolve to maintain
high standards of professionalism, discipline, and accountability in all aspects of training and operations.The Practical-Based Certificate Course in Library and
Information Science, which began in Ilorin, is one of several initiatives designed to enhance the intellectual and operational competence of Nigerian Army personnel.
