Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, has resigned following allegations of certificate forgery.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu accepted Nnaji’s resignation on October 7, 2025, as confirmed by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.
Nnaji, appointed in August 2023, faced scrutiny after investigative reports revealed that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), disowned his degree certificate.
Additionally, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) denied issuing his discharge certificate. In his resignation letter, Nnaji expressed gratitude to President Tinubu
for the opportunity to serve and claimed he had been a target of political blackmail. President Tinubu acknowledged Nnaji’s service and wished him well in future endeavors.
