Kebbi Govt Sponsors 70 Indigent Youths To Study In Saudi Arabia

Kebbi State government has sent 70 indigent youths to Saudi Arabia for undergraduate studies on religious and conventional programmes.
This development was disclosed by the governor’s special adviser on Religious Affairs, Engr Imran ibn Usman, during a press briefing held at the Government House Press Centre in Birnin Kebbi.
Imran disclosed that three candidates would be drawn from each of the 21 local government areas of the state in addition to 10 slots from Birnin Kebbi local government.
According to him, the government will sponsor the candidates’ trip to Saudi Arabia, while the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will take full responsibility for their programme.
The adviser further clarified that only candidates below the age of 18 will be allowed to be in the programme.
He noted that recently, he visited the embassies of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia as part of an agreement to sponsor the educational programme and the medical outreach, during which 5,000 people from Kebbi State will receive free treatment for different ailments.
